Girder

Industrial cyber security, with intelligence

We hold the structure up.

A girder is the steel beam that carries the load without being seen. Girder does that for the people who run and protect industrial sites: AI that reads, sorts, maps and explains what matters to the plant, checked by people who have run industrial security operations themselves.

The problem we work on

Too much, too scattered

Security information about industrial systems arrives from dozens of places, in formats written for office IT, and nobody at a plant has an hour a day to triage it.

Too few people

The world has far fewer OT security specialists than industrial sites. The expertise exists in a handful of operations centres; most plants never see it.

Too slow

From an advisory to a decision at a site takes days when it should take minutes. That gap is where incidents happen.

Girder's answer: put the judgement of a seasoned OT security operation into software, keep a human in charge of it, and deliver it at the speed the plant needs.

Industrial Cyber Brief

The AI-filtered top ten in industrial cyber security, checked by the editor, every day at 10 AM IST and in a weekly edition on Mondays. Each story mapped to the Purdue level and the person who should act.

Live

Executive report

Each issue as a one-page briefing for leadership, printable, with the same labelled reading.

Planned

AI OT SOC analyst

An analyst that triages, enriches and investigates alerts from industrial networks with the Purdue model and ATT&CK for ICS built in, under a human analyst's control.

Planned

AI risk assessment for factories

From an asset list and an architecture drawing to an IEC 62443-aligned risk and gap report, in days rather than months.

How we work

  • The plant first. Everything is mapped to where it sits in the plant and who should act. Advice that cannot be acted on at a site is not advice.
  • Facts and judgement, kept apart. The source is named; scores are quoted, never guessed; what the AI infers is labelled as inferred.
  • A human in charge. AI does the reading and the first draft; a person who has done the job decides what goes out.
  • Independent. No vendor sponsors us and nothing is sold to the people we write about. One vendor is left out, declared and explained: the founder's employer, see the Brief's methodology.
  • Open about the method. The rules, the sources and the corrections are published.
